ABOUT THE SABF
The SABF is a collection of mostly South African-originating companies or Botswana companies with shareholding in South Africa. It is a registered society under the Societies Act with reg number SOC0167280124BW. Its patron is the South African High Commissioner in Botswana.
The Forum was established in 2016 and has since grown to a membership of 21 strong companies in various sectors.
The main objectives of the forum are:
Collective Social Investment and generally being good citizens as companies.
To assist & enhance the ability of SA companies to fulfil their business aspirations
Provide a podium for networking opportunities as members
Create a positive image of SA companies & South Africa in Botswana
To provide a platform to interact, dialogue, & exchange views amongst/between
government, other businesses & civic organisations within the country and regionally to advance members & mutual interests
Guide & provide a platform for SA companies to contribute to the attainment
of economic growth, people development & social transformation of Botswana & the SADC region
Membership to the Forum
Membership of the SABF is open to any body corporate operating in Botswana in which SA entities have equities and/or influence and/ listed entities in the JSE.
Consistent with Government of Botswana definitions, companies falling into one of the following categories are eligible for
membership to the SABF

- Facilitate for members to promote their products and services;
- Keep members informed of relevant business, trade and legal development in the countries of Botswana and South Africa;
- Be a source of information and assist individuals and companies on the lookout for business, trade and investments;
- Offer a complete directory of members and companies;
- Organise informative seminars, discussions, luncheons and social events;
- Support the vision and objectives of the Southern African Development Community (SADC);
- Work in partnership with the representatives of the South African High Commission;
- Encourage good citizenry and participation in the Botswana Community.
The South African Business Forum (SABF) was established in Botswana in 2015,
through the facilitation of the South African High Commission, with the main aim of facilitating good relationships between the Botswana Government and South African businesses in Botswana.
